“Spring: a lovely reminder of how beautiful change can truly be.” ~Unknown
As mentioned in my last post for Citrus Lovers, we are so glad spring is finally here. Fortunately, we were able to get away from the cold a few weeks ago and today we’re sharing a peek into our lives from this past month.
If you haven’t yet subscribed to our newsletter (you can sign up below – it’s free!) then you may not know that every week I send out a newsletter on Friday. Sometimes it’s our favorite seasonal recipes or maybe a few holiday ones and then once a month I share a little about what’s happening in our lives.
Well, this week I thought I’d share our March Happenings in a post, to give all of our readers a little taste of what they might be missing in our newsletters.
As an email subscriber, you’ll never miss a new post, because they will come right to your inbox. Plus, you’ll have complete access to my email address, so you can reply whenever you have a question or just to say hi!
We vacationed in Florida and met Kenny and Chelsea’s family in Clearwater. It was our first vacation without little Monique. Which was so very sad, but the weather was beautiful and we had a really nice time with them and their 2 children.
Clearwater beach is one of the most beautiful beaches in the USA. Kenny and Chelsea met in Clearwater because Kenny’s family is from there and they were both going to an intern school called Master’s Commission. So, Clearwater and it’s amazing beach will always be very special to them.
Both of their kids have birthdays in March, so we celebrated them while we were in Florida. Laila is 5 years old and the little guy is 2.
We rented a house in Clearwater and it had a beautiful inground pool. Laila and their little foster love just LOVED it! That little guy wasn’t afraid to jump right in. Well, he did have a lot of floaties on of course.
We just had to eat at one of our favorite restaurants, Sonny’s while we were in Clearwater and take a family picture too. It was delicious!
Here are John and Chelsea smiling pretty. We also stayed a few days in a 2-bedroom villa at Orange Lake Resort in Kissimmee. We’ve been there twice now, it’s absolutely stunning and we highly recommend it!
We had so much for with our grandbabies! And both of them love to swim and go down the water slide, all by themselves. Yes, even the 2-year-old!
This resort has several pools, with waterfalls and slides, a lazy river, great restaurants, an arcade center, miniature golf and so much more! It’s the perfect place for families with kids.
While we were in Kissimmee, we went to Sea World one day. Chelsea was our trip coordinator and did a fantastic job lining up all the shows.
This is not a postcard – just look at the vibrant colors here!
Chelsea, Laila and I spent some time with the dolphins. We feed them a fish each and were able to pet them too – it was a wonderful day!
And then there’s our little Ruby. She’s almost 9 months old already. She’s been crawling for about a month now, she stands on her own for a few seconds and loves to take steps with a little help.
She is the sweetest, happiest little girl and we are very blessed to see her quite often!
This is my sweet sister, Charlene we’re holding her youngest grandson, Killian, and I’m holding Ruby. Andy & Jessica came over for the afternoon and it was so much fun having the babies and all of us together. If you look closely, you can see Char’s other grandson, Winston in the background.
Charlene, her daughter Melissa and her two young boys came to visit our Dad for a few days. What a great time we had talking and laughing, and of course, enjoying lots of awesome food!
We served some fresh fruit, a creamy dip and some of the most amazing coconut white chocolate blondies (fruit dip and blondie recipes to come, with the blondie recipe up this Sunday).
March’s Sweetest Comments
The last Friday of each month in our newsletter I share some of our sweetest comments. Thank you if you have left a comment on My Sweet Mission, we love to read them and I respond to each one!
- Minerva said on Homemade Rustic Noodles: These are so easy to make and very good.
- Charlotte said on Double Nutty Brownie Cookies: My husband is a chocolate person. I know he would love these.
- Karolina said on Loaded Oatmeal Cookies: These cookies are amazing! I wouldn’t change anything about the recipe. They’re gourmet, delicious and you don’t have to feel too bad eating them 🙂
- Ruthie said on Moist Chocolate & Vanilla Cake with Chocolate Ganache: It was incredible!! Made this for a birthday and it was a hit. I forgot the nuts, and the ganache turned out a bit thick since I miss read the 2-3 setting time 😉 but the taste was so divine and the texture fluffy! Thank you. Thank you.
