Wow, I can’t believe 2019 is half over! We made a big decision this past month and have some very exciting news to share with you. We put our house on the market. Yes, we did and it sold in just 6 days and at a great price!! You can see our home renovations in the big reveal, plus we recently added granite counters in the kitchen and the half bathroom.
Now, you may be thinking, wait, you just moved back to Michigan with your Dad last year. Yes, we moved back here so he could be around more family and we wanted to spend time with Andy, Jessica, and little Ruby too.
We actually had thought about moving to Washington last year, and Kenny and Chelsea were begging us, but we needed to help my Dad get adjusted to his new life. My Dad loves being back in Michigan and has settled in nicely in his newly renovated condo, so happy for him.
But, now we feel free to move to Washington state to be with Kenny and Chelsea’s family! We’ve always been close to them and this is how we roll, well, actually how we cuddle before bedtime. So, here we go again with a BIGGER move than we’ve ever made before!
We’ve never lived in the Pacific Northwest area before so it’s an exciting adventure for sure! Depending on the route we take we’ll travel through 6-7 different states before we reach the border of Washington – Wow!
I was concerned what people might think of us moving again and our dear friend, Cheryl said, “What do you and John want?” And I told her to be with Kenny and Chelsea’s family. And she said, “Then don’t worry what people might think and just do it!” Ah, thank you, Cheryl.
This picture was shared on Facebook recently and it hit us that Laila (she’s so beautiful) is already 5 yrs old and starting Kindergarten this fall. And their little foster love (such a handsome little guy) is already 2 years old.
Wow, the time has flown by and we, Kenny and Chelsea too, have had countless flights back and forth to Washington, Florida and now to Michigan.
Now you may be thinking, what about your youngest granddaughter, Ruby? She’s such a sweet and cute little girl, isn’t she? Well, we’ll definitely miss her, along with Andy and Jessica, and my Dad too, but we’ll see them on FaceTime, and plan on visiting a couple of times a year.
Ruby is turning 1 next week and Kenny and Chelsea’s family are coming in for her 1st birthday. It’s going to be fun spending time all together and then when they leave we’ll be on the road 5 days later – WHEW! It’s a crazy time but I keep telling John, and myself, just take one day at a time.
We bought a new patio set with a brightly colored rug and umbrella about a month before we decided to sell our home. The new buyers ended up buying it, so it will stay right where it is.
I just love our backyard garden and we planted some flowers this spring to make it extra pretty this year.
This past week we celebrated our 37th wedding anniversary – Whoot, Whoot! It was a quiet but very enjoyable day. We don’t need to fuss or spend a lot of money to have a good time, just a nice meal and being together is enough for us. 🙂
My sister, Charlene’s friend, Lori recently made our lighter macaroni salad for a women’s luncheon and everyone loved it! Char sent me a picture and I just had to share it with you. I love her crystal bowl and Lori’s sweet comment from our Facebook page is shared below in June’s sweetest comments. Thanks for sharing with us Lori and so glad everyone loved our macaroni salad!

I never comment, on anything, but… Had a family function with an enormous amount of food. Many types of cookies made by a lot of different people. I couldn’t stop eating from the container marked “Loaded Oatmeal!” Came home, found your recipe and made them last night and to my delight, they were the ”right” ones. These are not only my favorite cookie of all time, they are my new addiction! ? Thank you!!
