Happy Easter to you and your family! Easter can mean brightly colored eggs, jelly beans, carrot cake, and delicious chocolates, which are all great traditions. But Easter is a very special holiday for Christians because it means the death and resurrection of Jesus, God’s one and only son.
Jesus chose to die on the cross and wear A Crown of Love for all mankind because He loves us and wants us to be with Him for all eternity.
I was a young girl of 7 years of age when I asked Jesus to be the Lord of my life, a decision I have never regretted. And this year marks my 50th anniversary as a Christian.
Has life been perfect, easier or pain-free as a Christian, well, not exactly. But, I know that God has been with me each day of my life and every step of the way and I also know that He will never leave me. So, I have this inner peace and hope no matter what happens in life.
For instance, when my Mom was diagnosed with stage 4 brain cancer, we were all, scared, shaken and quite devastated. She was our family’s spiritual rock. Feel free to read my tribute to her.
But, through her 7 months of severe suffering and eventual death, we felt God with us in the darkest of times. He gave us all peace, bound us together in love and helped us to let go of her at the end. We know we will see her again and spend eternity with her in heaven. What a celebration that will be!
You can have inner peace through the darkest of times too. And it’s really easy to accept Him as your Lord and Savior.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”
A simple ABC prayer:
Father, I admit I’m a sinner and I repent of my sins.
I believe in my heart that your son Jesus died on the cross and rose again from the dead.
I confess you are the Lord of my life.
If you said that prayer and meant it with your heart, then you just got saved. We would love to hear from you if you did, so please leave a comment below or email me at Heather@mysweetmission.com.
We hope this post touched your heart today. If you have questions about being a Christian we’d love to answer them for you because we truly do care.
Have a happy and blessed Easter!
