Happy New Year! It’s always fun to see what you, our Sweet Readers, have made the most popular recipes each year. So, I’m excited to share with you our Readers’ Choice for The Best Recipes of 2017! And, like last year, I’m also sharing some fun year-end statistics that are pretty amazing as well!
Sweet and savory, it’s all right here in our top ten 2017 recipes. Many of these recipes are our faves too (way to go!) – so YOU all have great taste and rocked it again this year!
Loaded Oatmeal Cookies are full of chewy, heart-healthy oats, rich semi-sweet chocolate chips, sweet coconut and chopped walnuts. Oh, the combination of flavors in these cookies is totally awesome! And, they’re a healthier cookie choice because of all the oats and nuts.
If banana and chocolate is your favorite combo, then you are going to love our Chocolate Chip Banana Bread Muffins. They are deliciously soft and moist, with chewy golden brown tops, and full of chocolaty goodness! A must-make breakfast treat for company for sure.
Our Easy Sugar Cookie Frosting is buttery, smooth and creamy, and perfect for sugar cookies! We’ve been using this frosting for over 30 years and everyone goes crazy over it. It also has just 4 ingredients and whips up in minutes. And, it sets up nicely so you can store your cookies until ready to serve.
This one-pot Hearty Hamburger Stew has tender rice, lots of tasty vegetables, in a rich and savory broth, for a healthy, satisfying meal in one bowl! If you’re looking for great comfort food – this stew is it. It’s warm with rich flavors, and has the added benefit of being a healthier meal because it’s low in fat and high in fiber too!
These gorgeous Black Forest Cupcakes are moist chocolate cupcakes, with pretty swirls of the best buttercream frosting, and topped with juicy sweet cherries! Everyone loves chocolate and cherries, and with Valentine’s Day next month you can make something delicious for that someone special too.
Our delicious Coconut Cupcakes with Coconut Buttercream Frosting are moist coconutty cupcakes, with the smoothest and creamiest coconut buttercream frosting you may ever taste! We love this amazing buttercream because it goes great with many cakes, and can be made as vegan and coconut buttercream too.
Our Harvest Pumpkin Bread may be the BEST pumpkin bread you ever make! It’s super moist and not too sweet, and has flavors of pumpkin, cinnamon, and vanilla, with 4 cups of delicious dried fruits, nuts and seeds mixed in! It’s a great quick bread for breakfasts, brunches and holiday parties.
This Chile Relleno Casserole has green chiles, diced jalapeño, sweet corn, Mexican cheese in a savory egg mixture, with a little spicy heat! This casserole can be served for breakfast, brunch and even for dinner.
OMGoodness Sweet Readers, our Mom’s Chicken Broccoli Casserole is the absolute BEST! It has tender chicken and broccoli, baby Bella mushrooms, a creamy white sauce, and topped with buttery Italian bread crumbs. This casserole comes out of the oven smelling so good, you just can’t wait to give it a taste!
This Cherry Berry Dump Cake is our take on the infamous (and easy) Cherry Dump Cake, but with added layers of juicy blueberries and strawberries. So, it’s not as sweet as the original recipe, but still has the same gooey, fruit bottom, with a buttery, crumbly, nutty, crispy topping!
A look back at 2017:
We got our .com domain this past July. We would have gotten it sooner, but it was expensive, so we saved some of our earnings and purchased it.
We love you guys and gals, so we really wanted to get the .com for your convenience and for SEO (Search Engine Optimization). Long story short, if you’re thinking of starting a blog, get your .com domain before you publish your 1st post – trust me on this one! I tried to buy our .com only a week after I started My Sweet Mission and it was GONE! So, get your .com first and then start your blog.
You might be saying, “Hey, if you got your .com why does your blog still redirect to the .net domain?” Yes, it does, but we’ll be moving our blog over to HTTPS with our new .com domain this month.
I also started an intense online blogging course in February to learn as much about running a successful blog as possible. Why? So I can do our blog better and better for you!
