Happy New Year Everyone!! 2015 was another amazing year because of each and every one of you! My Sweet Mission continues to grow and for that I’m grateful and would like to personally thank you. It’s great to reflect back on the past year and see what recipes you have visited and shared the most, making these recipes (and many others) popular throughout the year. I have to say, many of these top 10 recipes happen to be our favorites too. So, here’s our Readers’ Choice for The Best Recipes of 2015 – hope you enjoy them!
It’s no wonder our delicious blueberry muffins are the #1 recipe, because they’re moist, light golden brown and bursting with juicy blueberries! They also have over 36,000 shares on Pinterest! I have to admit, these muffins are quite honestly the most scrumptious blueberry muffins we’ve ever made and will definitely fill your mouth with blueberry bliss!
These Mini Pineapple Upside Down Cakes are lower in fat making them a great little skinny treat! Everyone loves pineapple upside down cake for its gooey, fruity topping and these little moist gems are also super cute. Like many of my light cake recipes I used my lower calorie cake tip, saving these delicious mini cakes a lot of fat and calories! But, I promise, you’ll never guess they are because they’re yummy and super moist too.
Our Simple Strawberry Sauce is not too sweet, easy to make and full of fresh strawberry flavor! It’s the perfect sauce over pancakes, waffles, cheesecake, ice cream or whatever you love to put strawberry sauce on.
Our Coconut Supreme Cake with Coconut Buttercream Frosting is moist and light with a tropical coconut flavor! It’s rich and decadent, and this cake is easy to make by using a Duncan Hines Coconut Supreme cake mix. It’s also super moist and lower in calories and fat with my calorie saving cake tip. As you may know, I use this tip on most of my cake recipes because it works great, nobody can tell the cakes are lighter and it saves each cake a ton of calories and fat!
Ever since I can remember my Mom has been making her delicious Sloppy Joes the same way and our family loves them! They’re a little different than the normal Sloppy Joes because she uses a can of chicken gumbo soup and a touch of dried thyme, which makes these messy sandwiches incredibly good. She got this recipe from her sister-in-law over 50 years and we’ve been enjoying it ever since. Now, that’s a tried and true family recipe! So, if you’re tired of regular Sloppy Joes and you’re looking for a new tasty recipe, give my Mom’s recipe a try. They’re also a healthy and delicious recipe because they’re low in fat and calories, when made with ground sirloin.
If carrots are one of your favorite veggies then you’re going to love these Maple Glazed Carrots! They’re warm and buttery with a touch of maple goodness. Everyone knows that carrots are a super food, high in vitamin A and other nutrients, that are so good for your health. Plus, carrots are so delicious, especially when they’re cooked in a glaze made from a touch of butter and pure maple syrup. We think they’re the perfect side dish with almost any meal!
We love Chinese food, especially a really good orange chicken dish and this recipe fits the bill! It’s super easy to make and the chicken is tender, sweet and tangy with a touch of spice. So, forget the Chinese take out and make your family and friends a batch of this amazing slow cooker spicy orange chicken instead!
This Buttermilk Cornbread Recipe is the BEST because it checks every box that a great cornbread should be. It’s soft and moist, slightly sweet and absolutely delicious! We love cornbread and had been looking for the perfect cornbread recipe to share with you for a long time, we finally found one we loved and couldn’t wait to share it with you. This Buttermilk Cornbread Recipe is incredibly good and goes perfect with a hot bowl of our easy skillet chili.
I was trying to make brownie brittle but came up with these Thin Walnut Brownie Chews instead, and I’m so glad I did! They’re so chewy and nutty they almost taste like a chocolate caramel with nuts. They’re also rich and fudgy and seriously delicious, I’ll definitely be making them again and again!
We hope you and your family have a blessed and very Happy New Year filled with health, success, joy and love!!!
