Hello everyone, I hope you’re enjoying your Labor Day Weekend! Three of my lovely blogging friends and myself would like to introduce and welcome you to a new series called “Balance Your Life“. Our goal is to share interesting and helpful information on how to balance your life with your Spirit, Mind, Body and Heart. It’s going to be a lot of fun and each of us four bloggers will share a different part each Monday.
Overcoming Fear is attainable, and I believe that God can help us through every situation, and He wants us to walk in His peace through difficult times.
I will be Team Spirit and will share an inspirational and encouraging message each Monday. Today’s inspirational post is about Overcoming Fear.
“More Than Conquerors ~ Romans 8:37 (NIV) No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Bible Passage Source
God gives us dreams for the future, but sometimes those dreams can seem impossible. That’s when fear starts to set in.
If you are determined to never give up on your dream, then you have to take chances, you have to be courageous. And you need to understand that courage is not the absence of fear; it is pressing forward when you feel afraid. So when you face situations that threaten or intimidate you, you do not need to pray as much for the fear to go away as for boldness and courage so you can move ahead in spite of the fear.
The spirit of fear will always try to keep you from going forward. The enemy has used fear for centuries to try to stop people, and he is not going to change his strategy now. But you can defeat fear, because you are more than a conqueror through Him who loves us.
I want to encourage you to be determined to face fear when it comes against you. Stand firm, trusting God and knowing He is always with you.
Prayer Starter: God, even though I might feel afraid, I believe Your Word, which says that I am more than a conqueror. I can accomplish every dream You’ve given me because You love me and give me the victory.”
“Call God ‘Abba’ ~ Romans 8:15 (NIV) The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” Bible Passage Source
Fear always tells you what you’re not, what you don’t have, what you can’t do and what you’ll never be. But Romans 8:15 says that you are a child of God who can call Him “Abba Father.”
The word Abba was a term little children used in addressing their fathers. It would be similar to our word Daddy. It is less formal than Father and denotes a comfortable closeness between a child and his or her father.
Jesus said we could call God ‘Abba’ because He had delivered us from all fear. He will always take care of His beloved children, and we can approach Him without fear of rejection. When we run to Him with any problem or pain, He’s waiting with open arms to comfort and encourage us.
Prayer Starter: Abba Father, I know that You will take care of me, Your beloved child. You alone can deliver me from all fear, so I run to Your open arms.”
John and I are facing a huge change in our lives because we are moving to Florida this Friday. This means we are leaving our son, Andy, some of our family members and our friends too. So, I have to admit, I have been dealing with some fear and apprehension these past few month. Also, Chelsea & Kenny, along with our new little grand-daughter, Laila are currently living in Washington state. Our hearts are torn as we will now all live in 3 different states. You may ask, “Why in the world would you move to Florida?” Well, John and I have been wanting to move there for a few years and everything worked out so perfectly this time, that we just knew it was meant to be. Also, Kenny’s family lives in Florida, so when they come to visit they will only need to come to one state.
This past Saturday night at church I finally received a deeper peace about this move and realized that God is in control and He will bring everything together for our family. I don’t know how and I don’t know when, but I know He will do a perfect work in all of our lives. I will try my best to hold onto this peace each day and trust Him every step of the way.
We do have a few family members moving with us, like my Mom and Dad, along with my sister, brother-in-law and nephew. Also, my brother and a lot of his family lives in Florida so, we definitely won’t be alone. Sure we will miss our kids, grand-daughter and our friends, but they (our kids and many of our friends) will come visit us and we will visit them too.
We’d love to hear from you, so please feel free to leave a comment, question, an idea or a suggestion on any or all of our blogs.
